Hi I’m Maz!
Some may say that I am a destroyer, but really I’m a fun lovin criminal! I work hard and play harder.
Being an Iranian South Londoner doesn’t mean I tan very well but my big hair keeps me warm on the cold winter days.
I started 3equals1 Design in 2010 and am loving doing the weird and wonderful creative things that get thrown at us.
As you can probably see from my name I’m born and raised in the country of tulips and windmills, not too far from Amsterdam.
Since November 2017 I live in crazy London and so far the parks, pubs, museums, the great London atmosphere and obviously my work make me feel home in this part of the world! In 2015, I graduated as an interior designer at ArtEZ institute of architecture, in the Netherlands.
I love live music and am always looking for the next at concerts and festivals. Being born and raised in East London I have explored loads of music venues over London.
Aside from music, enjoy travelling and going to exhibitions.
I'm really into Astrology! and love the idea of creating a space for someone or a group of people based on their birth charts.
I would say my design style is simple and clean, but I’m all about the finer details such as fixtures, complimenting finishes and lighting. Same with Fashion.
My favourite part of the process is being involved from the initial concept of a design and creating mood boards. I'm the type of person to create a mood board for their life.
I’m Aaron, a guy from a small town on the outskirts of Sheffield who moved to the big city to pursue a career and experience life in London! I try to keep a flexible approach to design, but I favour an industrial style that shows character with rustic elements in the finishes. I believe that a design has to work well before it can look good.
When I’m not working I'm either watching sport or playing it! and if I can’t do either of those I’m relaxing playing video games or watching a movie
Having lived in six countries I’m a nomad at heart. I love traveling and exploring new cultures. I moved to London two years ago to study a postgraduate degree in Graphic Design.
I am always amazed at the effect that a designed space can have on a person, especially when it comes to dramatic lighting. I am excited to bring some more graphic elements to interior spaces here at 3 equals 1.
When I’m not designing, you will probably find me in an exhibition or drawing some op art or painting some stripes or taking photos of clouds… any creative outlet and I’ll be there.
Having come from a town in the heart of Hampshire, I have always been drawn to the bright lights of the city, and now here I am. I started my life in London after studying Graphic Design in Bournemouth.
I have always appreciated the small things when it comes to interior design, a potted plant, a few rugs and a funky lamp can have such an impact on me, as they can give an area a completely new identity (I am also rather impressed if people can find matching rugs and curtains).
I am always eager to get my hands on a graphics project or two, but If I’m not creating designs, chances are you will find me down in Oxford Street with 4 or 5 bags hanging off my arms, or sitting in a coffee shop drawing doodles on a napkin.
I used to think that after University I would go and explore a career in product design somewhere in Europe as I love to travel, but central London was too tempting and now I live and work in the heart of it. My favourite projects are those where the final design helps the user live abetter life. My design style is minimal with smart functionality hidden out of sight. Other than designing, I like to try out new sports and I’m aiming to explore as much of the world as possible, both above and below sea-level.
We are a team of creative individuals who each have their own style but importantly we work well together. Fostering an environment in which the individual styles and personalities of our team are allowed to prosper benefits the overall output of the team and helps us maximise the synergies that we possess.
Indeed, by allowing our own individual styles to flourish in a co-operative team environment, we can cater for a broad spectrum of clients with varying tastes. Evaluating who is best suited for each client means the success of the project is given a higher priority than the ego.
